One week left until a new generation starts!

February 25, 2011

There’s lass than a week left until the brand new games are going to be released in Europe and only a few days later in America.

Nintendo and Game Freak has done a lot to prepare us fans for the new games. As I’ve already blogged about, the Legendary Dogs, Raikou, Entei and Suicune have all been available for download. Suicune is still up for downloading until sunday (27.02.11) so get it while it lasts!

When you’ve got all three of these Legendaries by the end of February, you can eventually transfer them onto either Pokémon Black or White Versions.
By doing this you’re able to get the special Zoroark with the wicked ability Illusion, which makes an illusion of the Pokémon that is last in the Pokémon team.

At the same time Celebi is available in game stores around Europe and USA!

The only Pokémon that are missing from the Pokédex to legally complete the Pokedex (on Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold and/or SoulSilver) is Deoxys and Arceus.

Deoxys were actually available to transfer from Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs on a handful of conditions: Firstly, downloading a mission from the Nintendo WFC, then, secondly, do the mission – with another friend. As if it weren’t difficult enough to get a Wi-Fi connection suitable for the DS, you had to convince a friend to spend a lot of money on a game he or she probably wouldn’t have any self interest in.

And then it was Arceus. All was set ready for Arceus in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. There were different Plates to be found that were designed for Arceus’s Multitype ability. All Nintendo needed to do was to give away the Azure Flute item over WFC, but alas. There weren’t any…

Please get me right. I’ve been more than happy ever since I got Celebi for the very first time in my ten years of playing the Pokémon games. The thing is: I want to fully and LEGALLY complete the Pokédex on my games.

On the Diamond version I’m less than 20 Pokémon away from reaching that goal and that includes both Deoxys and Arceus. I’m pretty sure I’m not alone about this goal either. So close!

Despite my hopes of getting these tiny bits of data really hang thread as thin as a spider’s, remember that a spider’s thread is more robust than steel! And hopefully there will be events for old ‘mons in Pokémon Black and White too!

My prayers have been heard!

February 17, 2011

This is just historical!!

Alongside the Legendary Beast Trio of Johto, Nintendo is clearly in a good mood before releasing the new games that opens the door for a new generation! (Has the sales number hit the sky in Japan? Good reviews?)

Nonetheless, while the Wi-Fi Event is all about the Beasts, Nintendo has an event going on in stores around Europe. And that event is nothing less than historical!

For the first time in Europe ever, Celebi is given away!!! CELEBI!

Here is a list of countries where Celebi is available:

http://bulbanews.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Celebi_travels_through_time,_around_globe

Celebi is deemed by many as the rarest Pokémon ever: It has never been released outside of Japan and the United States legally – until now! Japan hashad a few Events since back in Generation II where Celebi was introduced and U.S. had a single event with Generation III due to the 10th anniversary celebration of the Pokémon games.

This Celebi is not only special because of its rarity. It also unlocksa special story in HeartGold and SoulSilver versions including Giovanni – the leader of Team Rocket back in the Red, Blue and Yellow versions. That’s all I’m saying (and mostly all I know).

And not only that: when transferred to the upcoming games, Celebi makes it possible to get Zorua! A Pokémon I blogged about last year which, along with its evolution (Zoroark), has a very cool ability called Illusion, which makes it transform into one of the opponents Pokémon.

Seriously; it’s like someone working for Nintendo has been reading my blog and my woes! (Mr. Miyamoto-san, is that you?) Suddenly my prayers about the Pokémon games. And when Europe gets the new games even before America, which has never happened before…

Now go get the Celebi while the offer lasts!

(Note that I’m not responsible for content in external links, and while I’m at this serious part; I disclaim any ownership or responsibility of all pictures posted on this blog, the pictures have been taken via google.)

Happy new year! (Too late for that one, no?)

February 1, 2011

It has been waaay too long since last post!

It’s not that I’ve been in coma from the exams I’ve had – my computer has been, though…!

A LOT has happened since my long month of absence!

The first I want to say is that I think I’ve been heard through the blog, because all of a sudden Nintendo seems to be more kind to us Europeans than ever before!

I’ll base this statement on the fact that Europe has got a release date for Pokémon Black & White Versions!!! And that is before the games are released in the US!!

The release date will be on March 4th!! And as we’re getting close to the release, a lot of English Pokénames are being revealed! Some better than others, off course. Will blog about this later!

Nintendo is going to celebrating the new generation games by having the first event directly for Pookémon Black and White!

On the release day, there is going to be a WiFi-event where Black and White players are able to download Liberty Ticket, which gives access to the special Victini, a legendary Pokémon similiar to Mew & Legendary Co.!

And for you who, like me, are still playing the DS-games, some WiFi-events are just around the corner. The Legendary canines, Raikou, entei and Suicune, are to be able for download from February. One for each of the  three weeks starting February 7th with Raikou, then February 14th with Entei and ending with Suicune at february 21st. These are, in addition to be Legendary, in fact shiny!!

The deal with them is to transfer them to Black and/or White versions when that time comes, so a special Zoroark is available in the new games!

The best thing with these events? They are available in all the DS Versions: Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver!!

As if that wasn’t enough, Nintendo has a special gift in March for us Europeans which I’m going to blog about a little later on.

We’re still in the 4th gen! Remember?

October 13, 2010

Okey, so I’ll try to be short as the NEXT EVENT will be!

The new generation games, Pokémon Black and White versions, were released last month in Japan!!! So a lot of new information have been revealed of the two games and all the new Pokémon as well! I’m not going to present all the Pokémon here at one time, but rather take a handfull of them and comment about all the new ‘mons in an overview.

That will be next time. This time however I’m going to salute Nintendo and Game Freak for not forgetting that we’re still in the 4th generation of Pokémon games in America and Europe!

The reason for my salutation is that there is a new Event for the beloved Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver versions that will be starting at October 15th!!!

This time it’s Mew that will be put on display in Nintendo’s cyber shelves waiting for you to download it to the HeartGold or SoulSilver cartridge!

It’s MEW!! Why in the great wide world are Nintendo and Game Freak suddenly in a good mood giving us a Mew for free?! Did the Black/White sale jump through the roof in Japan? Was perhaps the HeartGold/SoulsSilver sale overall a great success?

Probably and probably! But I actually have the real answer: The reason for the Mew-giveaway is because they are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the release of the original Pokémon Gold and Silver versions.

Can you believe it? Pokémon Gold Version and Pokémon Silver Version are celebrating their 10 years and what better way to celebrate than to give away a Mew for the brilliant remakes?

Be quick, though, as the Event will only last until October 30th! That’s only 16 days!!

Happy 10th anniversary Pokémon Gold and Silver versions!

The Nintendo Events keeps on rollin’ in!

July 29, 2010

Oh, yes! Another Nintendo Event is arriving for the Pokémon games!

This time it is an Event exclusively for HeartGold and SoulSilver – the Enigma Stone Event! The Event begins at July 31st and will last until August 27th. That’s about a whole month of time for you to download the Enigma Stone!

The Enigma Stone is a Key Item to be taken to Pewter Museum, where it will be analysed by a man. It turns out that the Enigma Stone is a fossilization of the Soul Dew, belonging to the Lati@s [a term of saying Latias and Latios at the same time]. After that… no I’m not going to say it all, but you’ve already found out that it’s about the Lati@s. At least you should have.

Yes, the Enigma Stone activates the Lati@s, but not both in each versions.

Latias, the red one for all the n00bs out there, will be able for SoulSilver and Latios, the blue one, for HeartGold.

The Lati@s were actually the first Legendaries with gender differences, Latias is female and Latios is male. They cannot breed and that is for two good reasons. Firstly, they are Legendaries, which are known for the symbol of being unbreedable. Secondly, they are actually siblings, so… ewww! Let’s not go there…!

Lati@s were first introduced in Ruby and Sapphire Versions, where they were the running Pokémon of the games. As to HG/SS, they were exclusive in the different versions; Latias in Sapphire and Latios in Ruby.

Unlike in Ruby and Sapphire where they are roaming around in Hoenn, they are battled directly, without fleeing, on HeartGold and SoulSilver. So get out there and take it nice and easy when catching them.

And don’t forget to save before the battle!

Get ready for some Jirachi fest!!

June 26, 2010

Nintendo continues to surprise us! Just after the E3 conference Nintendo is obviously getting bored from the anti-climax the following monday gave them. “Now what?”, Shigeru Miyamoto probably said.

With Galaxy 2 released, what could be said about Metroid: Other M was said, the title to the newest Zelda game – The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (can’t… wait… *crave*) was published and they want to keep their cards to their hands for now about further details, and the 3DS was finally brought into the light with titles as Animal Crossing, Paper Mario, Kid Icarus and even a remake of Zelda: Ocarina of Time!!!!

Was there anything else?

Ok, so Pokémon Black/White versions are not release titles for the 3DS. Alas! Still I think Miyamoto and the others had us Pokéfans in mind this week when another amazing Nintendo Event became available for all five Pokémon games on the DS!!!

From this date on (June 26th 2010) to July 16th everyone who owns a DS, DSi or a DSi XL with either Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold or SoulSilver and has a Internet broadband connection and a Wi-Fi USB cable can download a special Jirachi to each cartridge you own!

For me it means three Jirachis!! Yes, I have them all in their respective cartridge on Diamond, Platinum and SoulSilver. Actually I have two Jirachis on Diamond, as I’ve got one from my friend’s Ruby game. But I haven’t stolen it! I simply transferred a Jirachi from Pokémon Channel, which was MY game, so technically it was mine from the start.

This Jirachi is special in many ways.

1. Make a Wish with JIRACHI! is the first Nintendo Wi-Fi Event available for all five Pokémon DS games!

2. The Jirachi will unlock a special PokéWalker Course called Night Sky’s Edge where Pokémon like Clefairy and Jigglypuff are available, and items like Moon Stone and TM29 Psychic!

3. For all battlers out there, this Jirachi is been given the honour to be the only non-Dragon typed Pokémon to possess the special Dragon type move Draco Meteor!!

It’s a real Jirachi fest, I tell ya!

And it’s especially fun since I just got a Mew! More of that will come in the next PokéJournal!

Actually this gives me hopes again for the Arceus Event and the Celebi Event, that are set in the game, only waiting for being activated by Nintendo! It seems as if when one Nintendo Event closes another Nintendo Event opens!

We’ll see…

Pokéjournal #3

June 11, 2010

Today will probably marked as the day that Nintendo’s greatest game was released! I’m not talking about Pokémon this time, but of Super Mario Galaxy 2!!!!! Believe me, they have done more than just dropping the 2 on the title! That really deserves to be mentioned extra on this blog!

From a good game to three others; it’s time again to set up another page in  the Pokéjournal!

On Diamond I’m still filling up my Pokédex, recently with Charizard, Vibrava, Flygon, Poliwrath and Masquerain! I’m up in 447 seen Pokémon!

In other news on Diamond or shall we rather say on My Pokémon ranch, I have gotten Haley’s Aerodactyl, which is her last Pokémon to trade for a Pokémon that’s not on the Pokédex for the Diamond or Pearl version. That means there are only left to get the Grass Knot-Phione and Mew. So soon enough, I’m going to fill up Pokémon in the ranch so I can get the Mew! Phione only requires to be traded for a Leafeon and the Mew for a simple egg )after 999 Pokémon have been deposited)!

In Platinum, I have only Victory Road between me and the Pokémon League! After I have cleared the it, a bunch of new things becomes avaiable! Amongst those things there is the Rotom’s Secret Key-event which will give you access to the different formes, Darkrai’s Member Card-event and Shaymin’s Oak’s Letter-event! And don’t forget the Battle Frontier, which really puts the Trainer’s skills at test!

So far my Platinum team consists of: Pikachu (with Surf and holding a Light Ball, so it stays that way), Roserade (I really want to teach it Weather Ball, but then I probably have to teach it a weather move such as Sunny Day as well), Infernape (been training it in Atk, but ironically it is stronger in Sp.Atk, which isn’t suitable!) Vespiquen (did I mention my fascination for bees and the like?), Crobat and Drifblim!

In SoulSilver I’ve arrived in Ecruteak City and got  an Eevee from Bill when he’s back in Goldenrod City. Now the millon dollar question is: What kind of Eeveelution am I going to get? I think it will be either Jolteon or Umbreon, or maybe Espeon.

I’ve also been on treasure hunt on the Pokéwalker by collecting a lot of Big Pearls to sell for a lot of money! The money are mainly been being spent at the Goldenrod Dept. Store Lottery where one can win a lot of good TMs. So far I’ve collected four or five TM 02 Dragon Claw!

= 3750

In Ecruteak I went to the Dance Theatre and expected to battle the Kimono Girls, but ended up battling a Rocket Grunt. There was only one of the Kimono Girls there, but weren’t there five of them?

I really wanted to battle all the five Eeveelutions, but has Nintendo decided not to have the Kimono Girls battles just because ov the newest two Eeveelutions? Then I get really dissapointed…

I’ll keep on playing and hope you’ll do that to!

I’ve brought my Pokémania to a new level!

June 6, 2010

This week I have actually started to begin collecting Pokémon Trading Cards – again!

I think it’s about 4 or 5 years ago since I last was serious in collecting  the Trading Cards, but now I’ve gone back to old habits again.

It all started in, let’s see… 2000 actually when a there suddenly was a boom of Pokémon games, cards, candy and what could and couldn’t be sold of Pokémon merchandise (basically ALL Pokéstuff made, were sold). This was a year before I even got my first Pokémon game (Pokémon Silver Version) and I was kinda sceptical to all things involving Pokémon, but soon enough I got the Pokéfever as well. It started with one trading can and, well… never ended.

However, that was ten years ago (omg ten years?!), but it lasted for several years at a time. And now this week again I saw some Booster Packs (as  packs with ten cards are called) of the new TCG series called HeartGold Soulsilver Unleashed. Off course I had to buy that series, based on the two new Pokémon games. Even better, almost all backgrounds on the card illustrations depicts different places  in the two games.

My goal is to get this Pokémon card. It is Lapras frolicking in Union Cave! Beautiful!

Oh, these serene melodies…

June 2, 2010

HeartGold and SoulSilver is stock full of amazing music! So I really want to make a regular posting about the music in these treasures of two games and perhaps even some other Pokémusic too.

I’ve already posted a Youtube video of the National Park theme, with pictures of the park from morning until night. It is perhaps one of the best game music ever, but even that is just the top of the iceberg.

Today, however I will present to you the music in New Bark Town.

Serene…

Oh, and here is the same melody in the Game Boy tune.

Even in GB tune, it is simply beautiful… *sigh*

Pokéjournal # 2

May 18, 2010

Well, I should really blog a bit more often, but it’s a bit hard when you actually have to make an effort of finding one to call your own.

Anyway and anyhow, I will blog when I have a computer to use, like… now!

It’s been a long time since I even have blogged a journal of my progress in the different games.

Starting with Diamond: I’m still trying to fill in my Pokédex, but paused in the quest to train up Milotic and Yanmega up to lv. 60. Finally Yanmega knows Bug Buzz, which means it’s more powerful now. It was a playing hell without Bug Buzz on it. Now Charmander is at the top of my team, heping me fill up my Pokédex. However, I do hesitate to evolve it, as I am concidering training some of the other ‘mons first… but what the hell…!

In Platinum I have caught the Giratina in Distortion World, which was an epic battle to remember in Pokéhistory. That is actually now become a little while ago, so I have just reached Sunyshore City to take on the Gym Leader there.

In SoulSilver I have fought Team Rocket in the Slowpoke Well and cleared the Azalea Town Gym, which have got a nice makeover. Goldenrod City is the current city I’m in and…oh sigh, the music… In Silver version the Goldenrod music was very tranquil, but in its remake it’s more like the busy and big city it relly is, not a bad word to the Gameboy Color music!

To make up for the lack of the tranquility in Goldenrod, Game Freak has made a good new version of the National Park, theme… Oh, beautiful… *sniff*

Really one of their best compositions – ever!!! Just listen!
